Turmeric Tea

Here is a warm treat to enjoy morning or night. Add in turmeric's health benefits and you have life affirming and life altering cozy drink. 

Also called Golden Milk in Ayurvedic practices. Turmeric is one of nature's most powerful healers. The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin. Turmeric has been used for over 2500 years in India.

The medicinal properties of this spice have been slowly revealing themselves over the centuries. Long known for its anti-inflammatory properties, recent research has revealed that turmeric is a natural wonder, proving beneficial in the treatment of many different health conditions from general Inflammation, Cancer and Heart disease to Alzheimer's.

How to prepare Golden Milk or Turmeric Tea

Ingredients:

1 cup Coconut Milk (or any other alternative milk, fresh nut milk would be great too)
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Organic Turmeric
1/8 tsp Nutmeg
Dash of Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Raw Honey to taste or stevia (for weight loss or cancer prevention use)

Instructions:

Put coconut milk, spices in a sauce pan heat up slowly on low heat for about 20 mins. 

Pour into your favourite cup, sweeten and enjoy.

Stay Warm. Take with You Food

Almond Nut Bars
I know, I know it's a hard Winter. It is for me too. Try to make this high nutrition protein bar and take to to work or school with you. It will be a great energy booster to keep you warm.

These will be a hit for any almond butter lover!!
Feel free to use your favorite nuts or seeds in this recipe.

Ingredients:

3 cups of raw almond butter
1 cup maple syrup or honey
1 tsp cinnamon
½ cup cacao nibs
2 tsp bee pollen
1 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup pistachio nuts
½ cup goji berries – soaked
½ cup hemp seeds
¼ cup flax seeds
1/3 cup sesame seeds

Mix well with hands or wooden spoon. Spread out onto a cookie sheet.  Allow to firm in the fridge.  Cut into squares.

You can freeze these too, that is if you don’t eat them all at once!!

Dehydrate to firm to a bar that can be carried easily
