Wintertime
Hot Chocolate
Winter is the perfect time for
warming chocolate drinks. Most of the commercial brands of hot chocolate are
full of ingredients that are more than you are bargaining for. I love this hot
cacao drink, it’s full of nutrition, antioxidants and great taste.
I make a tea pot of your favorite tea to start and let it steep while I
gather the rest of the ingredients. I personally like herbs from the Amazon
and/or Central American forests (i.e. Pau D’Arco, Cat’s Claw, Vanilla bean, holy
basil etc.) due to their familiarity with cacao which is from the same region.
Ingredients serves 2 large mugs
2 tlb raw cacao powder
1 tsp coconut oil organic
1 to 2 tlb of unpasturized honey or stevia
1 cup of almond milk or hemp milk
1 cup of hot herbal tea as mentioned above
option: add your favorite super food powder to kick the nutrition.
Directions
Heat the almond milk or hemp milk and add it to the blender. Then add
the above ingredients to the blender.
Blend well pour into mugs add a cinnamon stick (or sprinkle cinnamon on top) and serve.
