Hot Chocolate with Love Inside

Wintertime Hot Chocolate
Winter is the perfect time for warming chocolate drinks. Most of the commercial brands of hot chocolate are full of ingredients that are more than you are bargaining for. I love this hot cacao drink, it’s full of nutrition, antioxidants and great taste.
I make a tea pot of your favorite tea to start and let it steep while I gather the rest of the ingredients. I personally like herbs from the Amazon and/or Central American forests (i.e. Pau D’Arco, Cat’s Claw, Vanilla bean, holy basil etc.) due to their familiarity with cacao which is from the same region.

Ingredients                                                          serves 2 large mugs
2 tlb raw cacao powder
1 tsp coconut oil organic
1 to 2 tlb of unpasturized honey or stevia
1 cup of almond milk or hemp milk
1 cup of hot herbal tea as mentioned above
option: add your favorite super food powder to kick the nutrition.

Directions
Heat the almond milk or hemp milk and add it to the blender. Then add the above ingredients to the blender.

Blend well pour into mugs add a cinnamon stick (or sprinkle cinnamon on top) and serve.

High nutrition Sour Cream

Kicked up Sour Cream

I have to tell you I had the family over for a holiday dinner and served this version of sour cream. It was such a hit that everyone wanted the recipe.  I love it when eating vegan is such a hit.
The best part is check out the nutritional facts about sesame seeds.

Ingredients
½ cup dried white sesame seeds (soak in 1 cup of sesame seeds in distilled water over night or during the day while you’re at work)
15 raw cashews (soak in with the same dish of sesame seeds, for 1 hour)
1 tsp fresh squeezed lemon (you could need more lemon)
½ cup distilled water (add more to the correct consistency)
sea salt to taste

Directions
In a high speed blender, place all of the above ingredients into the blender.
Add water slowly to the right consistency, only use the water if needed. Blend till creamy smooth.
Taste and balance the lemon and sea salt to taste like sour cream.

This cream will last for 4 days in the fridge.

Note: if you have no more use for the cream, you can use it up in a blender drink. Just add fruit and raw cocoa and a little honey.
